A little slug. A lovely big adventure.

Your privacy

How we use
your information.

Who we are

Gemma Day Publishing is responsible for the Susie Slug website and the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us through our contact form.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, enquiry type and message when you contact us.
  • Order and payment information handled securely by Stripe when you buy the book.
  • Device, browser, approximate location, page-view and interaction data from cookies or similar technologies, but only where your consent is required and you have given it.

How and why we use it

Enquiries

To answer messages and provide customer service. We use this information because it is necessary to respond to your request and for our legitimate interest in running the business.

Orders

To take payment, fulfil orders, keep appropriate records and meet legal obligations. Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy terms.

Analytics

If you accept analytics cookies, we use website activity data to understand visits, improve pages and measure how the site performs.

Advertising and retargeting

If you accept marketing cookies, we may use display-advertising and Meta retargeting technologies to measure campaigns, build advertising audiences and show relevant Susie Slug adverts on other websites or services.

Who receives information

We use trusted service providers to run the website, deliver contact emails, process payments, measure site use and—where you consent—run advertising. These may include Cloudflare, OpenAI Sites, Resend, Stripe, analytics providers, display-advertising platforms and Meta. Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's applicable safeguards and contractual protections.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose described above, to deal with queries or disputes, and to meet tax, accounting or other legal requirements. Cookie lifetimes are shown in the Cookiebot banner.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to how it is used. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Your right to object: You can object at any time to personal information being used for direct marketing, including related profiling.

Contact us using the contact page. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version will always appear on this page.
